247 parts that help you gear up your vehicle!

Either you’re a fan of car tuning or you’ve just become a self-educated mechanic out of necessity, I think you’ll find this useful! Personally I think it’s pretty cool, and I had no idea it’s possible to buy Car Parts over the Internet. Well my bad, I guess… when you think about it, there’s hardly anything you can’t buy over the Internet, these days.

Anyway, this company is called 247 parts and it’s essentially a huge repository in Cheap Car Parts; I’m personally amazed with the kind of items that I’ve found browsing their archives, and I figured this might be a good link to keep at hand. After all, in times of finantial crisis such as these, it’s always a good idea to get things done for less money, right?

From youtube to the streets to shopping online for skating gear.

It’s always the same thing, when I think about it. Every single time. It usually starts with me watching a bunch of youtube videos showcasing extreme skateboard stunts, along with a few homies. And as it goes, one moment we’re just chilling on the living room watching internet videos, and the next moment we’re hangin’ in the local park chatting with the local skater kids and going online to look for some longboards for sale… or try out the latest intricate skateboard tuning. What can I say? None of us has been a teenager for a long while, so those days of leisurely cruising the streets with a skateboard underfoot have swiftly gone by. We all have jobs now, and skating is no longer a lifestyle. But regardless, it’s still a passion!

Every once in a while, some of the good old skater boys still like to put down together and watch the latest internet skating hype, and from there to browsing specialized online skating gear, it’s a quick half-step. There’s much more to skating than just setting foot on a skateboard, although the feeling of detachment that comes from connecting with the four-wheel running board and soar through the city curb… wow, that’s definetely something that sets us all off. I obviously can’t pull off no ball-busting daredevil kind of moves, but truth of the matter is that I haven’t much interest in that, same as I don’t have much interest in self-destruction. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried skating man, but it’s one of those things in life that you really shouldn’t go by without experiencing.

Life can be scary, so you best be prepared!

Sometimes, it’s almost as if we think we’re immortal, the way we live reckless lives and fail to enjoy the good things, the good people surrounding us. That is until something scary such as heart disease and periodontal or cancer or something like that eventually sprouts, as if a reminder that we might as well have enjoyed the good times. But when such thing happens, it’s usually to late, anyway… right?

No news, here: life can be utterly scary… or rather the prospect that life will eventually expire. Although all in all, I suppose it’s just a matter of perspective. You see, I was reading this list of celebrities who died in 2009 (it’s much too long and much too depressing, so I think I won’t even post it here), and I noticed most of them died either of a heart attack or cancer – most notably lung cancer. I don’t know why, but this realization scared me deeply and felt somehow like a wake-up call. I’m not some kind of celebrity – that’s granted, but the way I handle myself, sometimes I feel as though I’m a prime candidate for such kind of diseases, and that’s really depressing.

Well, on the other hand, I have no plans to become hypochondriac anytime soon, so I guess I’m better off choosing a hands-on approach. I ought to get routine check-ups on a regular basis, and it’s about time to start looking after my health, exercising more and such. Even more important, I’ll try to keep in mind it’s best to enjoy life while it lasts. Because it certainly will not last forever!

Green grow the rushes, to keep pests under control!

It’s true, dearest readers: even though I may not come across as the green thumb type, I do enjoy my share of gardening in that little bit of land that’s commonly referred to as “the backyard”. Ever since I read this article stating that people could save more than $1000 / year by growing their own vegetables (such as tomatoes, zucchinis, salad greens etc.), I figured… why not give it a try? And as it turns out, growing food is actually quite an engaging and fascinating activity. I’m still learning my way around the garden, to be honest, but I’m actually very much fascinated with the concept of watching vegetables sprout from the earth and grow a little bit each passing day.

You know… even though vegetable gardening is quite amazing – it can also get tricky, when it comes to dealing with pests: you usually got to choose between growing healthy-looking vegetables that are soaked in chemicals, or crummy-looking, pest-ridden vegetables that are actually healthy. Unless of course, you’re clever enough to go green, and use a form of organic pest control. This is actually simpler than I thought, the whole “going green” with the garden greens… just a matter of choosing the right products, and finding a middle ground between doing pest control and growing biologic food. Now it’s just a matter of waiting to enjoy the fruits (rather the veggies) of my work!

Cool breeze, summer in the mountains! Anyone in?

Either I’m letting my expectations raise beyond myself, or in all truth the present summer isn’t as exciting as I hoped for… which is a shame, since I was really hoping for an amazing hot season! Well, but I guess complaining is of no use, and I’d be better off making some cool plans, such as going out to resort hotels oregon. This suggestion was offered by a friend of mine, once I told him I wanted to check out the West Coast; and it certainly seems like a good place to be!

This place is called the Running Y Ranch (ever heard about it?), and it’s a resort community with full service, which means it offers both peace of mind and a little customer pampering (so far, so good). But get this: they have mild climate with almost year-round sunshine! Also, it’s located in the Cascade Mountain range in Southern Oregon, just across the California border – I never been there but after checking out some pictures I think I will love it! It sounds just like a perfect spot for a little retreat in nature, and god knows I could really use some kind of retreat… I’m tired of doing the same things over each year and all summer.

My dream of owning an european sports car!

If only I knew about this when I was younger… You see, I have always dreamed of owning an European car, but I always figured it would be to expensive to get it shipped to America. Well, it turns out it’s actually not so expensive, according to these website which specialized on car shipping quotes. Learning about these rates really makes me wonder… maybe I could try and find a cheap car at european autions, and have it shipped here at a reasonable price. That wouldn’t be a half bad idea, but buying a car via auctions is probably a little tricky… I mean, how will I check the engine and such? Does anyone out there have experience doing this kind of thing? If so, please share your insights via comments box.

Epic fight scene from Old Boy!

Have you ever heard about the Japanese movie Old Boyu? I was introduced to this clip by a friend, and it really looks like a kick-ass saturday afternoon kind of flick. We were about to go out to Blockbuster to rent the DVD, but then I felt like doing a casual digital misdemeanour, so I’m currently looking around for some Rapidshare links. Don’t worry about it, the puritan among you readers: if I really enjoy the movie, I’ll make sure to buy the DVD, as to make sure to get the creators some monetary compensation. That’s pretty much how things roll, in the XXI century!

How to play vinyl records without electricity!

I was watching these cool videos, and it feels like I’m doing some neat high school science projects, so I thought I’d share for the sake of it. It may not be the most efficient way of listening to vinyl records, but it’s probably the most ingenious. For example, the first video demonstrates how to listen to a spinning record using nothing but a piece of paper:

Neat, uh? And it doesn’t sound so bad, either! Now, if you’re wondering if it would be possible to really play a record without electricity at all… yup, the same principle still kind of applies. Just remember this method involves using a metal needle, so it’s prone to damage your records. Make sure to try this one with old records you don’t care much about:

The secret of success? Keep learning!

In this, I’m no different from the average American: I hate my job. Not because I hate working – much the other way around – but rather because I very much hate the way things work in the old-fashioned corporate America; although thankfully change is now slowly creeping in, working with certain close-minded corporations can be truly disgruntling. This is particularly true for people who have proactive spirits and enjoy learning new things. As opposed to mindless corporate drones. And even though I may come across like some kind of lost teenage rebel the way I’m talking, that’s just because I’m angry about the way I was looked down upon for trying to bring a new idea to work.

You see… while approaching my supervisor casually, and I told him I’d read about a website called learn, which is a highly regarded company that specialized on improving productivity and on-demand workforce development. I mentioned I’d been using their website to develop my working skills, and I suggested it might be interesting to get a representative from their company to make a little corporate presentation. Do you know what my superior told me? “You might as well get back to your own work boy, and make sure you get it done – rather than worrying about doing my job”. He didn’t even let me finish! I’m telling you, I’m wasting myself in this dead-end job.

So you think online dating is for losers?

If you think that online dating is for losers, don’t worry about it. In fact, to be honest – I used to think just the same; in the meanwhile I’ve been proved wrong, and who knows… maybe someday you too will change your mind on the subject matter. You see, in my way of seeing things, people are better off looking for romantic dates in online singles specialized websites, which is a filtered environment that supports and promotes the whole righteous courtship thing, rather than doing going on cray dates through websites such as MySpace.com or Craig’s List, where anyone can pretend he’s anything, and God knows with what purpose in mind.

I’m just saying, if people feel like meeting someone online, there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s a venue same as any other, such as nightclubbing or going to the library. Nowadays the Internet is just a place same as any other to meet new people and pursue romantic interests. However, I think it’s best to do such thing in proper websites, such as
Perfect Match
, or Date.com. Or maybe the well-known Friend Finder, as well! These websites are in the virtual romance business, which means they profit if people effectively find what they’re looking for! Guess what, we’re living in a consumerist society so it pretty much means you get what you pay for. So cheers to that! Just go out and get romantic, either online or offline – or both!
