Life is short… so Keep on trucking, uncle Bob!

I know a lot of people who have the most unlikely and bizarre jobs; this is great because it provides me with a notion of different lifestyles. Furthermore, it’s a good way to acquire trivia knowledge; for example, if you don’t know the difference between a bull bar and a truck bed rail, there’s a good chance you don’t know anyone who drives trucks. If that’s so, then I’m sorry to inform you that you’re missing out on a great source of fun and stories.
Does it sound like a strange reasoning? Well, it wouldn’t if you had a trucker uncle, same as myself. My uncle Bob is barely a decade older than me, and he was always the family’s rogue – so naturally he was also my role model of sorts, while growing up. Uncle Bob has been working on the trucking business for almost twenty years! And whenever we get a chance to hook up, I always end up getting involved in all sorts of trouble, while being quite impressed with detailed narrations from his vagrant antics out on the nation’s highways. It’s rather amazing how there are only three things in his mind: partying, womanizing and trucking! In other words, he’s pretty much my personal role model – and he’s coming for a visit this weekend so… well, you can bet I’ll be having lots of fun!
