086 -> Car

I’m not a big fan of clocks or time-tracking devices of any kind. Well, at least not for practical purposes. You see, as a free-lancer I very much enjoy the thought of being free from time-based constraints of any kind. That’s just my thing, but that’s not the point I’m headed towards, in this little digression. You see, even though I don’t enjoy using clocks, or depending on clocks, I very much enjoy the idea of a clock as a mechanism. This is particularly true for wall clocks or those old grandfather clocks… you know, the kind when you can actually hear those clockworks ticking.

I remember when I was a little boy I used to spend some time with my grandparents and they used to have a big ass clock in the living room. When I was quite little, that think scared the hell out of me, but as I grew older and braver, the realization dawned upon me of how amazing that little contraption was. I mean, there was a time when I didn’t even know how to tell time, and there I was sitting away in front of that colossal antique clock, mesmerized with its impressive range of clicks and chimes. When I get around to settling down and starting my own family, you can bet one of the first things I’ll do will be getting a grandfather clock! Is there anyone out there who can relate with this feeling?
