Life’s just great, isn’t it? Despite its darker side, the world we live in is filled with little (and great) awes and wonders. Sometimes, you’re bound to come across particular images that you feel like holding on forever. And sometimes, just carrying fond memories isn’t enough, and you’ll want to get some physical evidence to support those pictures in your imagination.

Next time you’re visiting New York and you feel like kicking yourself in the back because you’ve forgotten your digital camera, remember my wise words: proceed to 42nd street, and there you’ll come across that a New York camera store that doubles as tourist attraction: simply because this particular store has been up and running for over 40 years.

You know, certain resarchers have claimed that digital photography is bad beause it weakens our memory. The habit of capturing snapshots left and right supposedly distracts us from our natural ability to capture those pictures in our mind. Well, I don’t know if that’s true, but personally I have no problems with such thing just as long as I still get to show my favorite pictures to others who haven’t been there.
In more than one occasion, I have regretted forgetting my digital camera when travelling. Fortunately, those gadgets are getting so cheap nowadays it’s really not a big deal purchasing an extra machine – or three – that can eventually be sold in online auctions, if necessary. Oh well, it’s all about saving life’s finest moments – that’s what it makes it all worthwhile, right?
