Someone I haven’t seen in a long time.

Today I was sitting in a quiet café, lounging about – same as I usually most afternoons, when I’ve finished with the early afternoon chores. I was casually browsing the web in my laptop, when I noticed someone was standing right next to my table. I looked up from the screen, and much to my surprise, I see a familiar smile I hadn’t seen in quite a long time. It was a smile that brought about many good memories, and it was smiled upon by this girl I hadn’t seen in such a long time.
It was this amazing brunette I had dated on and off a few years back. However, she was from a distant city, and I had no idea that I’d find her in my own city, much less in one of my regular hang-outs. The best thing about it was that apparently she was now living in my city! It really feels great to stumble across someone you used to love, don’t you think so? I mean, she’s sporting a wedding ring, so I’m not even thinking like it’s free nostalgia booty or some macho bullshit like that. Regardless of our past, the future is a different affair; but regardless of all that, it’s great just talking with her and remembering other times.
This is one of those things that really makes my day, you know? When you’re just doing your thing and minding your business, and all of a sudden… BAM! Life puts you in for a welcome surprise. Ah, it sure feels great being alive, when I think of it! All those sweet and sour surprises just waiting around the corner, each day…
