Get your Spirits up… and keep it that way!

First and foremost, something should be argued concerning the word “spirit”; it’s frequently underrated and thrown around as though it’s something to do with pseudo-religious fanfare. Well, in my opinion Spirit is something transversal in our being, something which elopes from our very essence to the most supreme sense of being the universe as a whole could possibly ascertain towards.
I think the spirit is nothing but our own inner pathway to god. “Only the liberated Spirit is able to faintly realize the nature of the source whence it sprung and whither it must eventually return.” When I think about my own spirit, I cannot help to think of it but as a shard which is derived from the one Source, i.e. God (or whatever whoever chooses to call It): a shard which purpose is to find its way back… to the One Source.
Someone who is endowed with a positive spirit is positively connected to the One source, and such a person clearly exudes Joy and Grace; conversely, a person with a negative spirit is actually disconnected with his own core. People lacking good spirits are arguably more susceptible to diseases, depression and general bad luck. In more than a way, our bodies and minds are a reflection of that which lurks inside of us.
It was the Native American Hopi who referred to the Great Spirit as “He taught us how to live, to worship, where to go and what food to carry, gave us seeds to plant and harvest.” From a spiritual (rather than a spiritualist) standpoint, I believe that consciousness should be put into the remembrance that our Spirit is also that which fathered our being, in its all-encompassing splendor that goes well beyond the physical boundaries. We do not seek our spirits, nor do we work upon out spirits – in the sense that we do not work on something which is perfect and omnipresent; we merely should recall that our spirit is the one connection to that which we really are… personally, that’s my higher spiritual goal: to get in touch with whom I really AM.
